Hello Judy,

My name is James Harter.. Son of Edmond Harter,..Son of Sig Harter...Married to Cora Strange.

Sig and Cora were my Grandparents. Sharon Allison is my cousin. If I can help in any why with the family project just yell.

Sharon and I talk alot via e-mail. From my research into the family line. Billy Strange is my first cousin 1x removed. I just started this family tree project at home for my daughter. I remember my Dad always telling me we had a guitar playin relation down south somewhere and he was pretty good at what he does. Imagine that! Love to help out as much as I can.

I was told a long time ago that the reason the family tree is somewhat a mess, is someone tried to make it look like two families and we're not just one family, I don't know who has the Big book now, that my Mother in law used to have, wish I did, my Brother in law and I went to get it and it was gone, where it had been kept in her home for many years, but I was told many family things and passed them down to my childred and grand sons, for my Greatgrand children.  I would love to talk with you about this, may be helpful to both of us, love you and all, hope to talk soon.

My grandma was good friends with Billy's aunt ... her name was Lola Hargrove. (This was in the 40s/50s/60s.  I never heard that Lola was ever married and I don't know if she was related to Billy's mom or dad. I definitely remember Billy's parents and Billy when I was very young.

Hi Judy. Billy was my biological father, I was born in 1976 to LeAnn King and Billy Strange, a short lived relationship, (feel free to message me with any questions). Through me he has 2 more grandsons, Logan King-10 and Dylan King-15. His legacy most definitely lives on through many amazing family members and friends. I look forward to seeing a complete family tree. Thank you for your efforts in this endeavor.
Much Love,
Micah

Judy -

I finally put the the last few pieces of the puzzle together last night, thanks to a piece of information from Sharon Allison a few days ago.  Billy is now "in the tree" for anybody that is interested.  There are a few minor pieces of inconsistant information yet to be ironed out and I am reaching out to John Drake Strange III of Tulsa, an outstanding genealogist, to help me try to clear up any remaining inconsistancies.  Again, I will be glad to share with anybody who is interested, although I have yet to formalize a "tree" that can be transmitted as an intity unto itself.  I am on Facebook and my cell phone number is listed there.  My Email is miltonstrange@yahoo.com.

LOLA WAS MY GREAT AUNT AND YES THAT WAS BILLY'S MOTHERS SISTER, LOLA WHO WE CALLED AUNT TERCIE, AND BILLY'S, SONNY AS WE ALL NEW HIM, HIS MOTHER WAS NAMED VELLA EVANS, AND HIS FATHER WAS NAMED GEORGE STRANGE! GEORGE HAD POLIO FROM A VERY YOUNG AGE AND WALKED ON HIS KNEES IN SPECIAL BOOTS, WAS A WONDERFUL MUSISCIAN AND COULD PLAY ANY INSTRUMENT, HE TAUGHT SONNY HOW TO PLAY THE GUITAR.

Billy's dad, George, was indeed an amazing man. He played, sang, was an artist with the pencil, and could paint a big story. It may sound odd (strange), but I have a stapler on my desk, an old pitted chrome Arrow brand stapler. I rarely have anything to staple anymore. But George gave it to me. So it's stayed right there all these years. A very nice memory.

VERY COOL, AND YES WE HAVE PRINTS OF ALL OF UNCLE GEORGES PENCIL DRAWINGS, HE HAD A VERY GOOD CROSS-HATCH SHADING STYLE AND HIS LANDSCAPE DRAWINGS OF OLD CABINS AND SCENES ARE SO GOOD! WE WILL DEFINATELY MISS SONNY EVEN THOUGH THERE HASNT BEEN ALOT OF COMMUNICATION IN THE LAST 30 YEARS, BUT WHEN HE LIVED IN BELAIR CALIFORNIA MY MOTHER & FATHER USED TO HAVE DINNER AT HIS HOUSE ALOT AND THEY LOVED TO PLAY CHERADES WITH HIM AND MAC DAVIS, THE STORIES IVE BEEN TOLD ARE REALLY NEAT! THANKYOU FOR YOUR REPLY JONMARK, IM GLAD YOU HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW SONNY AND UNCLE GEORGE AND OUR AUNT VELLA!
